JOBS and ROLES:

There are many volunteer positions available at the book sale.  We welcome all the help we can get, so please get in touch if you have questions or want to know more about any of the positions listed below.

NOTE: Please do not sign up teens for official volunteer shifts; they are, however,  welcome to come and help out!  Young children are not allowed during sorting/collection as there are many stacked boxes of heavy books

SORTING:  Putting the books in boxes by category, e.g. hobbies, mystery, children’s books.

SET UP:  Physically setting up shelves and tables in the sale room (muscles requested!).

SHELVING & PRICING:  Shelving and pricing the sorted books with coloured dot stickers.

CHILDREN’S DAY:  Helping students choose their books or working the cash.

CLEAN-UP:  Boxing unsold books, folding and stacking tables (muscles required again!).

Book Sale Steering Committee

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our Steering Committee. This is the group that plans the book sale and fills leadership roles for Sorting shifts, Sale shifts and the “Take-Down” of the sale.  Many of our experienced members will be leaving when their children graduate from grade 6, so we encourage anyone with energy and enthusiasm to join!  We have different jobs to suit every schedule – working parents, at-home parents, somewhere-in-the-middle parents and grandparents!
